The Dakota Digital HDX-40F-S is a direct-fit HDX instrument system designed specifically for the 1940 Ford car dashboard, featuring a silver alloy gauge-face styling. This kit includes a chrome plated, machined bezel that restores the iconic look of the original 1940 dash while incorporating modern electronics, including a full-color TFT message center integrated into an OEM-styled housing.
Engineered to fit the stock dash opening of 1940 Ford cars, this system combines classic style with advanced features. Calibration and personalization are handled through built-in capacitive-touch buttons or the available Bluetooth app for Apple and Android devices, and each needle hub is finished in black nickel plated spun-aluminum to match the control buttons.

Notes
Depth will generally mimic the stock gauge cluster, typically falling in the 1.5"-2.5" range. An optional GSS-3000 sensor is required for gear position indication. Part number 130011 is available separately for relocating the pulse generator when additional clearance is needed. The DIM-1 is a common accessory for adding on-the-fly rotary brightness control. Installation in a vehicle other than its intended application may present mounting and viewing angle challenges; any necessary modifications should be made to the vehicle's dash rather than the HDX system to preserve warranty coverage.
