About GM 200R4 Transmissions

Gearstar's TH200-4R (also called the 200R4 transmission or 2004R transmission) is a custom-built, four-speed automatic overdrive transmission. The 200R4 transmission improves fuel economy and maintains strong performance. Its 0.69:1 overdrive gear reduces engine RPM at highway speeds, improving fuel efficiency and reducing engine wear.

Valving: Transgo Recalibration Shift Kit, new separator plate, 0.500 boost valve

Hardware: 10-vane pump assembly, hardened stator shaft, heat-treated forward drum, hardened sun shell, new TV cable, mount, dipstick

Gearstar Level 3: High-Torque Muscle & Track

Designed for high-torque muscle cars and moderate track applications.

Ratings: 550 HP / 500 Ft-Lbs torque at crankshaft

Converter: 10" or 11" Lockup Billet Yank Performance Converter (2800-3600 stall)

Internals: Raybestos Stage 1 Racing Frictions, a wide carbon fiber band with a reinforced wide anchor

Heavy-Duty Upgrades: 300M input shaft, 300M forward drum and shaft, heavy-duty billet servo

Components: High-capacity 10-vane pump, hardened sun shell, vacuum lock-up system, new speedometer gears

Gearstar Level 4: Extreme Street & Strip

Built with advanced alloys to handle extreme street and strip power levels.

Ratings: 750 HP / 675 Ft-Lbs torque at crankshaft

Converter: 10" or 11" Lockup Billet Yank Performance Converter (2800-3600 stall)

Internals: Raybestos Stage 1 Racing Frictions with high-performance 10-clutch direct drum assembly

Geartrain: 300M input shaft, 300M forward drum/shaft, 300M overdrive ring gear, and planetary assembly

Race Upgrades: Fully rollerized and stress-relieved geartrain, Transgo Shift Kit with Shift Command, Gearstar Full Race Shift Kit, custom high-rev governor, high-capacity billet servo with anodized cover
