Description
The Dakota Digital HDX-55C-S is a direct-fit HDX instrument system engineered specifically for 1955-56 Chevy cars, one of the most iconic and customized platforms in automotive history. This Silver Face system installs into your stock or reproduction bezel and pairs six analog gauge readings with a large TFT display for expanded digital message center functionality.
Each HDX system allows independent illumination color selection for gauge readings, needles, and message centers, with calibration and personal settings managed through built-in capacitive-touch buttons or the available Bluetooth app for Apple and Android devices. Needle hubs are black nickel plated spun-aluminum to match the control buttons, and a central control box simplifies installation using vehicle-harness sourced signals along with supplied solid state sending units.
All HDX instrument systems feature dead-faced indicators, including turn signals, high beam, check engine, cruise control, and parking brake, plus two user-definable indicators, along with a red, settable warning light for each gauge.

Included Sensors

- Oil Pressure: 1/8" NPT solid state sensor with a 10 ft harness
- Cable Driven Speed Sensor/Generator: replaces GM style speedometer cables with a 10 ft harness; sensor requires approximately 5" clearance between the cable drive output and any obstruction
- Bushings: 1/8" to 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" NPT bushings, plus bushings for 12mm and 16mm x 1.5 threads
Notes
- Bezel not included; system uses an OEM or reproduction style bezel
- Reproduction chrome bezels available separately as part number CHC-55C
- Instrument system eliminates the stock automatic gear shift indicator above the steering column; add GSS-2000 Gear Shift Sensor (sold separately) to display gear position
- Part # 130011 (sold separately) allows relocation of the pulse generator when additional clearance is required
- Not all OEM indicator lamp functions are replaced; unused indicators may be repurposed as needed
- HLC-55C clock is available separately as a complement to this HDX system
