Description
The Dakota Digital RTX-73F-PU-X RTX Instrument System is a drop-in replacement gauge cluster designed for 1973-79 Ford pickups as well as 1978-79 Broncos (does not fit E-Van applications). This kit delivers the stock appearance of the original instrumentation while providing the capabilities of a late-model system, including color-changeable LED backlighting and twin TFT message centers with expandability to mesh with late-model and diesel drivetrain conversions.
As part of Dakota Digital's RTX series, this instrument system retains that stock look without sacrificing late-model features. Careful attention has been paid to incorporating OEM design elements in the layout, face styling, and indicators, so that at a casual glance the gauges appear original—until the LED backlighting illuminates in your chosen color scheme.
Built from CNC-machined housings filled with in-house designed electronics, the RTX series raises the bar for aftermarket instrumentation. The high-definition TFT message centers can be fully configured to display a wide range of information, and the system utilizes a central control box to simplify installation and setup.

- 12 factory preset color themes or fully customizable color zones
- Full RGB LED backlighting with adjustable daytime and nighttime brightness, toggled by the headlight switch
- Pushbutton rocker switch control for programming and operation, with feedback via the TFT message center or included buzzer
- Configurable through the free Dakota Digital mobile app for Android and Apple devices

- Oil pressure sensor: 1/8" NPT solid state, with 10 ft harness
- Cable-driven speed sensor/generator that replaces Ford and/or GM style speedometer cables, with 10 ft harness (requires approximately 5" clearance between the cable drive output and any obstruction; part number 130011 allows for relocation of the pulse generator when additional clearance is needed, sold separately)
- Bushings included for 1/8" to 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" NPT, plus 12mm and 16mm x 1.5 thread applications
Notes
- Kit requires the stock instrument bezel for installation; bezel is not included
- Gear position indicator requires optional GSS-3000 sensor
- DIM-1 accessory available for on-the-fly rotary brightness control
- Not all OEM indicator lamp functions are replaced; unused indicators may be repurposed as needed for your application
