The Dakota Digital RTX-42F-X Instrument System brings modern electronics to your 1942-48 Ford or Mercury car while retaining the stock, OEM-styled gauge appearance you love. Designed with CNC-machined housings and in-house engineered electronics, the RTX series blends classic analog gauge faces with a high-definition TFT message center, giving you accurate, late-model performance without sacrificing the original look.
A casual glance may dismiss this system as factory original, but once the LED backlighting is activated in your chosen color scheme, the advanced capability becomes apparent. A central control box simplifies installation and setup, while the system's digital message centers can be configured to display a wide range of vehicle information.
Due to the unique, OEM-styled gauge face color used on the '42-48 application, some color shift of the user-selectable RGB backlighting will occur, which reduces the available color selections and gives the pure white option an incandescent warm color temperature.

- Cable Driven Speed Sensor/Generator: replaces Ford and/or GM style speedometer cables with a 10 ft harness; requires approximately 5" clearance between the cable drive output and any obstruction (Part # 130011 sold separately for relocation when additional clearance is required)
- Bushings: 1/8" to 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" NPT, plus 12mm and 16mm x 1.5 thread bushings
Notes
- Not all OEM indicator lamp functions will be replaced; unused indicators may be repurposed to suit your application
- Gear Position indicator requires the optional GSS-3000 sensor (sold separately)
- For on-the-fly rotary brightness control, the DIM-1 accessory is available separately
- Speedometer calibration is not required when used with the optional GPS-50-2 (sold separately)
- Includes a two-sided pushbutton rocker switch for programming and operation
