Description
The Dakota Digital HDX-70C-MAL-K is a complete HDX instrument system designed as a drop-in replacement for the sweep-style cluster found in 1970-72 Chevy Malibu, non-SS Chevelle, and El Camino models. This Black Face edition delivers six analog gauges, a large TFT message center for auxiliary readings, and a new front lens and rear housing, eliminating the original indicator strip for a modern, upgraded instrument panel.
Illumination colors for gauge readings, needles, and message centers are independently selectable, with calibration and personalization handled through built-in capacitive-touch buttons or the available Bluetooth app for Apple and Android devices. Each needle hub is finished in black nickel-plated spun aluminum to match the control buttons, and every gauge features dead-faced indicators along with a red, settable warning light.
Installation is simplified through a central control box that sources signals from the vehicle harness and connects to supplied, solid-state sending units at their respective terminals. The system uses an OEM or reproduction style bezel, which is not included.
