Description
The Dakota Digital RTX-77C-CAP-X is a direct bolt-in RTX Instrument System designed for 1978-87 Chevy Caprice and Impala models, retaining the stock OEM look while adding modern electronic features. The gauge cluster incorporates OEM-style layout, face styling and indicators, so a casual glance will reveal nothing out of the ordinary, until the color-changing LED backlighting is switched on.
Each cluster is built around a CNC-machined housing with in-house designed electronics and a high-definition TFT message center that can be configured to display a wide range of vehicle information. A central control box simplifies installation and setup, making this system suitable for stock drivetrains as well as LS-swapped applications.

- Cable Driven Speed Sensor/Generator: replaces GM-style speedometer cables, includes 10 ft harness; requires approximately 5" clearance between the cable drive output and any obstruction
- Bushings: 1/8" to 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" NPT bushings, plus 12mm and 16mm x 1.5 thread bushings
Notes
- Front dash bezel not included; kit fits into the stock dash opening
- Gear Position indicator requires optional GSS-3000 sensor (sold separately)
- Part # 130011 (sold separately) allows relocation of the pulse generator when additional clearance is required; Tremec and Ford style adaptors available on request
- DIM-1 is a common accessory for on-the-fly rotary brightness control (sold separately)
- Not all OEM indicator lamp functions will be replaced; unused indicators may be repurposed as desired
