Description
The Dakota Digital HDX-88C-PU-K is a complete HDX instrument system upgrade for 1988-94 Chevy and GMC pickups (and 1992-94 SUVs), featuring a black alloy gauge-face styling. This system replaces the original cluster with a full tachometer, precise analog gauges, and a large, full-color TFT message center capable of displaying auxiliary readings. The HDX system is designed to interface with virtually any drivetrain combination.
Each HDX system allows independent illumination color selection for gauge readings, needles, and message centers. Calibration and personal settings are controlled through built-in capacitive-touch buttons or the available Bluetooth app for Apple and Android devices. Needle hubs are black nickel plated spun-aluminum to match the control buttons.
With the included central control box, installation is simplified using vehicle-harness sourced signals and supplied solid-state sending units that connect cleanly to their respective terminals.

- Cable Driven Speed Sensor/Generator: replaces GM style speedometer cables with a 10 ft harness; requires approximately 5" clearance between the cable drive output and any obstruction
- Bushings: 1/8" to 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" NPT bushings, plus bushings for 12mm and 16mm x 1.5 threads
Notes
- This system eliminates the gear indicator found in the OEM instrument cluster on models equipped with an automatic transmission; add the GSS-3000 Gear Shift Sensor to restore a shifter detent readout within the HDX display
- Not all OEM indicator lamp functions will be replaced; unused indicators can be repurposed to suit the application
- Part # 130011 (sold separately) allows relocation of the pulse generator when additional clearance is required; Tremec and Ford style adaptors available on request
- The DIM-1 is a common accessory for on-the-fly rotary dimmer control, sold separately
- GPS-50-2 may be used to negate the need to calibrate the speedometer, sold separately
