Description
The Dakota Digital HDX-88C-PU-S is a complete HDX instrument system upgrade for 1988-94 Chevy and GMC pickups (and 1992-94 SUVs), featuring a silver alloy gauge-face styling. This system replaces the original cluster with precise analog gauges, a tachometer, and a large, full-color TFT message center capable of displaying auxiliary readings and interfacing with virtually any drivetrain.
Illumination colors for gauge readings, needles, and the message center are independently selectable, giving the installer complete control over the look of the cluster. Calibration and personal settings are managed through built-in capacitive-touch buttons or the available Bluetooth app for Apple and Android devices. Each needle hub is black nickel plated spun-aluminum to match the buttons.
A central control box simplifies installation with vehicle-harness sourced signals and supplied, solid-state sending units that connect cleanly to their respective terminals. This system eliminates the gear indicator found in the OEM cluster on automatic transmission-equipped models; adding the optional GSS-3000 Gear Shift Sensor restores a shifter detent readout within the HDX display.

Included Sensors

- Cable Driven Speed Sensor/Generator: replaces GM style speedometer cables with a 10 ft harness (requires approximately 5" clearance between the cable drive output and any obstruction)
- Bushings: 1/8" to 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" NPT bushings, plus bushings for 12mm and 16mm x 1.5 threads
Notes
- Not all OEM indicator lamp functions will be replaced; unused indicators may be repurposed as needed for the application
- GSS-3000 Gear Shift Sensor is required for gear position display and is sold separately
- Part # 130011 allows for relocation of the pulse generator when additional clearance is required and is sold separately
- DIM-1 is a common accessory for on-the-fly rotary dimmer control
