Description
The Dakota Digital HDX-54C-PU-S is a custom-engineered HDX instrument system designed specifically for 1954-55 First Series Chevy pickups. This silver face system replaces the stock dash cluster with a tailor-made billet aluminum bezel and six analog gauges, eliminating the need for adapter rings or compromised installations.
Each HDX system features twin TFT message centers and fully customizable lighting, allowing independent color selection for gauge readings, needles, and message center displays. Calibration and personalization are handled through built-in capacitive-touch buttons or the available Bluetooth app for Apple and Android devices. A central control box simplifies installation by using vehicle-harness sourced signals along with supplied solid-state sending units that connect cleanly to their respective terminals.
All HDX instrument systems include dead-faced indicators for turn signals, high beam, check engine, cruise control, parking brake, and two user-definable indicators, plus a red, settable warning light on each gauge for quick notice of abnormal conditions.

Included Sensors
- Water Temperature: 1/8" NPT, ground isolated sensor with 10 ft harness
- Oil Pressure: 1/8" NPT solid state sensor with 10 ft harness
- Cable Driven Speed Sensor/Generator: replaces GM style speedometer cables with a 10 ft harness; sensor requires approximately 5" clearance between the cable drive output and any obstruction
- Bushings: 1/8" to 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" NPT bushings, plus 12mm and 16mm x 1.5 thread bushings
Notes
Fits 1954 and 1955 First Series Chevy pickups only (not GMC applications). Gear position indicator requires the optional GSS-3000 sensor, sold separately. Part number 130011 (sold separately) allows relocation of the pulse generator when additional clearance is required; Tremec and Ford style adaptors are available on request. Not all OEM indicator lamp functions will be replaced; unused indicators may be repurposed as needed.
