The Dakota Digital HDX-77C-CAP-S is a bolt-in HDX instrument system for 1977-90 Chevy Caprice/Impala, featuring a silver alloy gauge-face styling. This system delivers color-changing backlighting, full-color digital displays, and mobile-app compatibility without requiring any cutting for installation, though some wiring is necessary to complete the conversion. Installation and setup are straightforward whether the vehicle retains its stock drivetrain or has undergone an LS-conversion.
Independent illumination colors can be selected for gauge readings, needles, and message centers, with calibration and personal settings controlled through built-in capacitive-touch buttons or the available Bluetooth app for Apple and Android devices. Each needle hub is black nickel plated spun-aluminum to match the buttons. The system uses an OEM or reproduction style bezel, which is not included.
