Description
The Dakota Digital HDX-78C-MC-K is a direct bolt-in HDX instrument system designed for 1978-87 Chevy Monte Carlo, Malibu, and El Camino models equipped with the six-round gauge cluster. This system is not compatible with the rectangular sweep-style speedometer cluster. Featuring Black Alloy face styling, the HDX system uses your stock housing, blackout plate, and front bezel for a clean, factory-style appearance.
This system delivers six analog gauge readings along with stock-location turn signals and a pair of TFT message centers. Each gauge features user-selectable illumination colors for needles, sweep, and digital displays, with over 30 color options and 12 factory preset themes available. Needle hubs are black nickel plated spun-aluminum to match the HDX capacitive-touch control buttons.
Calibration and personal settings are controlled via built-in capacitive-touch buttons on the gauge face or through the available Bluetooth app for Apple and Android devices. A central control box simplifies installation by sourcing signals from the vehicle harness and connecting supplied solid-state sending units directly to their respective terminals.

Notes
- Bezel not included; system uses your OEM or reproduction style bezel
- Will not fit rectangular sweep-style speedometer cluster
- Gear Position indicator requires optional GSS-3000 sensor (sold separately)
- Part # 130011 (sold separately) allows relocation of the pulse generator when additional clearance is required
- Not all OEM indicator lamp functions will be replaced; unused indicators can be repurposed as desired
