Description
The Dakota Digital HDX-78C-MC-S is a direct bolt-in instrument system for 1978-87 Chevy Monte Carlo, Malibu, and El Camino models equipped with the original six-round gauge cluster. This system is not designed for the sweep-style cluster. It installs into your stock housing, using your original blackout plate and front bezel for a clean, painless upgrade, and features Silver Alloy gauge-face styling.
The HDX system delivers six analog gauge readings, stock-location turn signal indicators, and a pair of TFT message centers. Users can independently select illumination colors for the gauge readings, needles, and message centers, with calibration and personal settings controlled via built-in capacitive-touch buttons or the available Bluetooth app for Apple and Android devices. Each needle hub is black nickel plated spun-aluminum to match the buttons.
All HDX instrument systems feature dead-faced indicators for turn signals, high beam, check engine, cruise control, parking brake, plus two user-definable indicators, along with a red, settable warning light for each gauge. A central control box simplifies installation by sourcing signals from the vehicle harness and connecting supplied, solid-state sending units to their respective terminals.
