Description
The Dakota Digital HDX-87F-MUS-K is a complete HDX instrument system engineered for the 1987-89 Ford Mustang, featuring a black alloy gauge-face design that fits directly into the stock cluster and housing. This system combines six analog instruments with a large, full-color TFT message center that can be fully programmed to the driver's preferences.
Each HDX system allows independent selection of illumination colors for gauge readings, needles, and the message center, with over 30 LED backlighting color options available. Calibration and personal settings are controlled through built-in capacitive-touch buttons or the available Bluetooth app for Apple and Android devices. Needle hubs are black nickel plated spun-aluminum to match the control buttons.
All HDX instrument systems feature dead-faced indicators, including turn signals, high beam, check engine, cruise control, parking brake, and two user-definable indicators, along with a red, settable warning light for each gauge. A central control box simplifies installation using vehicle-harness sourced signals and supplied solid-state sending units that connect cleanly to their respective terminals. This system uses an OEM or reproduction style bezel, which is not included.

- Cable Driven Speed Sensor/Generator: Replaces Ford and/or GM style speedometer cables with a 10 ft harness; requires approximately 5" clearance between the cable drive output and any obstruction (Part # 130011 available separately for relocation of the pulse generator when additional clearance is needed)
- Bushings: 1/8" to 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" NPT bushings, plus bushings for 12mm and 16mm x 1.5 threads
